Description
Great beer begins on a farm. Our annual truly local craft beer festival showcases beers that are not only brewed locally but made with ingredients grown on local farms. In past years, we have collaborated with the London Homebrewers Guild to host a competition where the only criteria is the use of greater than 60% local ingredients. This year we collaborated on a pair of beers coming from the same mash. This Truly Local Grisette showcases local organic malts from Harvest Hop and Malt (Guelph) – Violetta Malt (Andrew St. Jean, Baden ), Spelt malt (Howick Community Farms, Gorrie) Wheat malt (R. Brubacher, Elora ), alongside Triple Perle Hops (Backroads Hops, Parkhill) and Old World Saison yeast (Escarpment Labs, Guelph). Light in alcohol and body, this local twist on a Belgian miner’s beer is effervescent and thirst quenching.
